Welcome to Grains Barn Farm - Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Pendle
Grains Barn Farm is situated in the Calder Valley, close to the urban areas of Burnley and Nelson.
The accommodation provided is finished to a very high standard with superb views over the surrounding countryside.
A private room on two levels, offering an en-suite bedroom downstairs with a cosy lounge area upstairs amongst the original oak beams.
The Grade II listed building, set amongst 12 acres of pasture and ancient woodland once formed part of a dairy farm, which was converted by the present owners in 2002. The woodland, a Biological Heritage Site, is home to Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay, Kingfisher, Thrush and many other songbirds. If you are lucky you may spot wild deer grazing in the pasture.
Our easterly boundary forms part of "The Old Laund Booth Walk", a gentle but hilly circular walk of 7 miles (approx 3 hours). It explores many points of interest, taking in the lush valleys and attractive farmland that once formed the ancient hunting ground known as The Forest of Pendle. Close by, a network of well-established footpaths giving access to the moors and villages dominated by Pendle Hill.
For those visitors wishing to go further afield, Grains Barn Farm is situated close to the motorway network, with Junction 13 of the M65 only 1 mile away.
This offers easy links to the market towns of Skipton, Haworth and Hebden Bridge together with the ancient cities of York and Lancaster (scene of the infamous Pendle Witch Trials.) The bustling cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds, together with the coastal towns of Southport, Blackpool and Fleetwood are all within one hours drive, making this an ideal location for walkers, cyclists and the business community.
So whether your visit is for business or leisure, why not come and sample the warm hospitality that awaits you.
